Alexandra Higgins is a manager in the Professional Services Agreement Division of VMG Health. She specializes in the valuation of wide variety of agreements and agreement structures, including: management fees, billing and collection fees, co-management compensation, and shared savings arrangements.
Ms. Higgins’ recent experience includes the valuation of post-transaction joint venture management, billing and collection, and managed care contracting fees. Additionally, she has been involved in consulting and valuation services related to co-management, pay-for-performance payment models, and shared savings distributions for clinical integration networks.
Ms. Higgins received a Bachelor of Science in International Economics, Magna Cum Laude, from Texas Christian University. She is actively attending business valuation courses offered by the American Society of Appraisers. She has recently been published in HFM Magazine, Health Care Compliance Today, and ImagingBiz and has recently presented on co-management at a national healthcare conference.
Matt McKenzie is a manager in the Professional Service Agreements division at VMG Health and is based in the Dallas office. His focus is providing valuation and consulting services for professional service arrangements within the healthcare services industry. He specializes in valuations related to clinical compensation models, on-call coverage, physician administrative and executive services, subsidy coverage, management services, and quality initiatives.
Mr. McKenzie serves as a contributor to VMG Health’s FMV Tools™ which allows users to quickly establish compensation levels for employed and independent contractor physicians in various roles based on systematic and unbiased guidelines.
Mr. McKenzie was a Distinguished Scholar at Southern Methodist University and graduated with a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in finance with Honors in Business from the Edwin L. Cox School of Business. Additionally, he holds a Bachelor of Science in economics with financial applications from the Dedman College of the Humanities and Sciences at Southern Methodist University. Mr. McKenzie has passed Level I of the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) program and is in the process of earning the full credential.
John Meindl is a manager with VMG Health and is based in the Dallas office. In addition to providing valuation and transaction advisory services, Mr. Meindl is also involved in the firm’s Dispute Resolution and Litigation Advisory service line.
Mr. Meindl’s valuation experience includes providing advisory services for management planning, dispute resolution, transaction advisory, financial reporting, and tax purposes. He has provided dispute resolution and advisory services in matters including lost profits, business interruption, breach of contract, fraud, clinical compensation disputes, trademark infringement, patent infringement, and breach of fiduciary duty, among other various matters involving public and private entities.
Prior to VMG Health, Mr. Meindl was a senior analyst at Ernst and Young in the Transaction Advisory Services group where he performed valuation, transaction advisory, and dispute resolution services to the firm’s corporate and private clients.
Mr. Meindl received a Bachelor of Business Administration from Wake Forest University, and a Masters of Business Administration from Southern Methodist University.
Corey Palasota is a manager at VMG Health in the Dallas office. In addition to providing valuation and transaction advisory services, Mr. Palasota is also involved in the firm’s proprietary research and management consulting initiatives.
Mr. Palasota’s valuation and consulting experience spans numerous sub-industries within healthcare including the valuation of complex multi-billion dollar enterprises. Since joining VMG, he has been involved in over 200 transactions comprised of acute-care hospitals, ambulatory surgery centers, diagnostic imaging centers, urgent care centers, freestanding emergency rooms, physician practices, diagnostic laboratories, inpatient rehabilitation facilities, long-term acute care hospitals, home health agencies, management companies, and assisted living facilities amongst various other healthcare entities.
Prior to VMG Health, Mr. Palasota was an analyst at a hedge fund where he performed valuation and due diligence on the firm’s concentrated investments.
Mr. Palasota received a Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance and Business Honors from The University of Texas at Austin. He has obtained the Chartered Financial Analyst designation from the CFA Institute and has also published numerous articles regarding valuation complexities within the healthcare industry.
Adam Portacci is a manager at VMG Health in the Dallas office. He focuses on providing business valuation and transaction advisory services in the healthcare industry. His valuation experience includes acute care and specialty hospitals, ambulatory surgery centers, diagnostic imaging centers, dialysis clinics, vein centers, physician practices, and oncology centers. Mr. Portacci has recently guided numerous radiation therapy valuations and transactions for physicians and health systems.
Prior to joining VMG Health, Mr. Portacci worked in healthcare administration at Community Health Systems, Inc. affiliated hospitals in Tennessee. He began his career with AIM Healthcare Services, Inc. providing claims resolution services.
Mr. Portacci earned a Master of Business Administration with a concentration in Accounting and a Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance from Southern Methodist University Cox School of Business. He is a Certified Valuation Analyst through the National Association of Certified Valuators and Analysts and has completed business valuation courses through the American Society of Appraisers.
Matthew Strother is a manager at VMG Health based out of the Dallas Office. He assists clients with a variety of business valuation and financial consulting services including minority & controlling equity valuations, financial feasibility analysis, transaction consulting services, pro-forma cash flow modeling and ASC 805 Business Combinations purchase price allocation analysis (formerly SFAS 141R). Mr. Strother works with healthcare clients across a variety of sub-industries including ambulatory surgery centers, diagnostic imaging centers, radiation therapy centers, urgent care clinics, general acute care hospitals, long term acute care hospitals, rehabilitation hospitals, surgical hospitals, dialysis centers, chemo infusion clinics, and physician practices. Mr. Strother holds a degree in Finance from the McCombs School of Business at The University of Texas at Austin.
William Teague is a manager based in the Nashville Office. Mr. Teague specializes in providing valuation, transaction advisory, and consulting services to the healthcare Industry. He has experience working with acute care hospitals, healthcare technology companies, ambulatory surgery centers, diagnostic imaging facilities, physician practices, and numerous other ancillary service businesses. In addition, Mr. Teague has performed valuations of financial derivatives such as warrants, options, and other contracts as well as specific intangible assets including health system trade names. He also has an extensive background in physician compensation arrangements.
Mr. Teague graduated summa cum laude and holds a Bachelor of Science in Finance and Economics from the University of Tennessee at Knoxville. He holds the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation and is currently pursuing the Certified Valuation Analyst (CVA) designation.
Bridget Triepke, CPA is a manager with VMG Health and is based in the Dallas office. She has eight years of experience performing valuation and financial advisory engagements for the purposes of financial reporting compliance, tax planning, and merger and acquisition planning. Mrs. Triepke’s clients include hospital systems, imaging centers, ambulatory surgery centers, dialysis centers, and other healthcare entities.
Mrs. Triepke is a part of VMG Health’s financial reporting valuation team. She has performed numerous valuations related to acquisitions and affiliations as required by ASC 805, Business Combinations and ASC 958, Not-For-Profit Entities. In association with these valuations, Mrs. Triepke has valued the following intangible assets: trade names and trademarks, customer relationships, non-compete agreements, patented and unpatented technology, contracts, certificates of need, and trained workforce. Additionally, Mrs. Triepke performs valuations to assist clients with their annual impairment testing as required by ASC 350, Intangibles—Goodwill and Other.
Prior to joining VMG Health, Mrs. Triepke was a manager in KPMG’s Economic & Valuation Services practice. While at KPMG, she participated in U.S. and international valuation and advisory engagements that involved the valuation of control and minority interests in both public and privately held entities, oil and gas reserves and intangible assets. Mrs. Triepke also spent one year at a hedge fund assisting in the management of a $2.0 billion portfolio. She was the primary analyst covering 15 mid- and large-cap oil and gas service companies.
Mrs. Triepke is a licensed Certified Public Accountant (CPA) in the state of Texas and holds a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting and a Master of Science in Finance from Texas A&M University. Mrs. Triepke is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Healthcare Financial Management Association.
Jonathan Tyroch is a Manager at VMG Health specializing in transaction advisory representation and consulting services. Mr. Tyroch focuses on providing his clients strategic buy-side and sell‐side transaction advisory and joint venture development consulting services. Mr. Tyroch’s transaction advisory experience includes acquisitions and dispositions of acute care and physician owned specialty hospitals, as well as senior housing, sub-acute service providers, and physician owned ancillary business. He has represented clients including for‐profit and not‐for‐profit health systems, physician owned ancillary service providers, as well as development and other publicly owned and privately held healthcare entities.
Prior to joining the transaction advisory group, Mr. Tyroch spent over eight years with VMG’s business valuation group providing valuation and operational consulting services to clients across multiple healthcare segments. With the business valuation group, Mr. Tyroch developed numerous client relationships and served a lead role in hundreds of valuation engagements involving acute care and specialty hospitals, ambulatory surgery centers, diagnostic imaging and radiation therapy centers, as well as a myriad of physician practices and other ancillary entities.
Mr. Tyroch is a research associate and collaborator in the development and publication of the Intellimarker Multi-Specialty ASC Benchmarking Study published annually by VMG Health. The Intellimarker presents hundreds of operating and financial benchmarking statistics using data from approximately 200 ambulatory surgery centers from around the country.
Mr. Tyroch received a Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance from the Mays Business School at Texas A&M University and is a Certified Valuation Analyst (CVA). Additionally, he is actively pursuing the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation from the CFA Institute. Mr. Tyroch is a member of the National Association of Certified Valuators and Analysts (NACVA) and Texas Young Professionals Association (TYP) Dallas Chapter.
Taryn Witten is a manager in the Business Valuation Services division at VMG Health and is based in the Dallas office. Her focus is providing financial, valuation, and consulting services for business within the healthcare services industry. She has particular expertise in valuations relating to ambulatory surgery centers, surgical hospitals, oncology centers, diagnostic imaging centers, physician practices, and other ancillary healthcare service businesses.
Ms. Witten received a Bachelor of Business Administration in Corporate Finance from the McCombs School of Business at the University of Texas at Austin with a minor in Accounting. She is currently pursuing the Accredited Senior Appraiser designation from the American Society of Appraisers (ASA).
