Financial Analyst

Job Summary

VMG Health is seeking a Financial Analyst on our Physician Compensation team in Nashville, Tennessee, to assist with performing financial analyses, valuation excel modeling, due diligence, market research and report writing.

Key Tasks & Responsibilities

  • Apply core financial valuation principles to unique and ever-evolving types of arrangements.
  • Work directly with clients in gathering information and data such as financial statements, contractual agreements, operational reports and any other data or information required to provide a thorough work product.
  • Problem-solve in developing novel methodologies, approaches or considerations in an ever-evolving industry.
  • Participate in authoring or co-authoring articles and/or presentations on compensation arrangements.
  • Work directly with division leadership in a team-based cohesive environment.
  • Support the maintenance of the division’s infrastructure including updating and keeping template models & reports current, performing periodic survey database analytics, and contributing to a positive culture.


  • Required Minimum Education: Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance and/or economics.
  • Experience:
    • Strong knowledge of financial theory and/or economics.
    • Financial modeling experience.
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office; strong knowledge of Excel and Word.
  • License/Certifications:
    • Coding Credentials: AHIMA – Certified Coding Specialist-Physician (CCS-P) or AAPC – CPC required. CPMA Certification required.
    • AACP – CPC-I Certified Professional Coding Instructor -or- AACP – CPC-I Certified Professional Coding Instructor -or- CHCA Certification from AHCAE (Association of Health Care Auditors and Educators), preferred but not required.
  • Knowledge & Skills:
    • Ability to work independently with minimum supervision. Attention to detail and ability to review personal work and peers’ work.
    • Superior written and oral communication skills. Ability to present ideas in a business-friendly language and tailor formal and informal communications to the audience. Ability to build consensus both internally and externally.
    • Client-oriented work ethic and excellent interpersonal skills. Ability to build and manage relationships with key clients to ensure the success of each engagement.
    • Excellent collaboration and team orientation skills.
    • Desire to contribute thought leadership to engagements and organizational knowledge while working with a variety of personalities at all levels, both internally and externally.
    • Tenacity, intellectual curiosity, and a drive for continuous improvement.
  • Travel: Minimal.
