Apryl McElheny is a Director at VMG Health within the Ambulatory, Surgical Center & Specialty Consulting Practice. With over 19 years of experience in ambulatory surgery centers (ASCs), including 12 years in leadership roles, Apryl has developed a comprehensive skill set in ASC operations. Her areas of expertise include policy and procedure development, regulatory compliance, infection control, quality assurance, staff training, and fostering a culture of patient safety. She has served as a Senior Consultant with VMG Health, formerly Progressive Surgical Solutions, since 2021.
Prior to joining VMG Health, Apryl held several roles at a high-volume ophthalmic ASC in central Pennsylvania, including Clinical Director/Administrator, Quality Assurance Coordinator, and Infection Preventionist. Her extensive background in the ASC setting has provided her with deep knowledge and practical experience in managing and improving ASC operations.
Apryl is a Registered Nurse and holds a Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) and a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Carlow University, as well as a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from Mount Aloysius College. She is also certified as a Certified Administrator Surgery Center (CASC), Certified Infection Control and Prevention (CIC), and is a Basic Life Support (BLS) Certified Instructor.
