A newly formed, private equitybacked aesthetics and wellness organization with rapid expansion plans needed a strategic recruiting partner to successfully support its growth across corporate and individual locations.

Situation

This organization was eager to grow quickly and dynamically through acquisition and de novo locations. A top priority was successfully filling out the remaining roles in the corporate leadership team. Additionally, they anticipated large hiring needs across the locations they had already acquired and the future new locations. With only a small HR department in place, they needed a recruitment partner with deep expertise in the aesthetics and wellness industry who understood their unique culture, high-touch patient experience, and fast pace. It was imperative to quickly find the high-quality talent they required. While hiring the right people was a priority for the client, they did not have the time to invest in the full hiring process for the many roles they needed.

Solution

The client selected VMG Health’s Recruitment Services team to strategically assess and address its staffing needs. After initial discussions with the CEO and private equity partners, VMG Health crafted a year-long master recruiting agreement to provide the necessary recruiting support across corporate leadership, management, and staff-level recruiting. The team conducted in-depth stakeholder discussions across the executive team, HR, and hiring managers to understand and prioritize current needs. These discussions were designed to uncover the skills and experience required to perform each role as well as the best personality and culture fit for the individual team and location. Throughout these conversations, VMG Health provided thought partnership on the compensation and benefits that would attract top talent and advised alternative skillsets and experience to consider using expert insight on the specific candidate markets. Best practices for streamlining the hiring process, such as creating links for interview scheduling, were discussed and implemented.

After aligning on the current openings, the VMG Health team tailored their approach to each based on market and role level. They created customized job postings and conducted robust, proactive candidate sourcing across their vast network. The team conducted initial interviews with viable candidates and presented only the best few to the client for consideration. The VMG Health team provided insights on each candidate to ensure the client was set up for successful interviews on their side, and follow-up discussions provided feedback to refine the search and assist the client with decision-making. Throughout the full process, VMG Health maintained ongoing communication to understand and adapt to changing needs, switching priorities and taking on new roles as they arose.

Success

VMG Health’s agile partnership with the client resulted in strategic recruitment support that shifted with the client’s needs. Throughout 2024, VMG Health placed 14 candidates ranging from director and senior director levels, RNs, and front-desk employees for this client. Selectively partnering the corporate roles with a senior consultant for onboarding further solidified success for both sides. After an initial focus on filling much-needed, corporate-level positions, the team switched to supporting location-specific staff roles as they arose, taking on the heavy lift of sourcing, applicant review, and initial interviews to free the client team to focus on what they do best: providing excellent patient care.
