Appointment strengthens the firm’s health plan consulting capabilities and supports continued growth
Dallas, TX – VMG Health, the leading healthcare consulting firm for business performance, is pleased to announce the appointment of a new Managing Director, Michael Genord, within its Health Plan Practice.
Based in Michigan, Genord brings nearly 30 years of experience in healthcare, including extensive experience in health plan leadership, physician practice, and healthcare strategy. Before joining VMG Health, he served as President & CEO of Health Alliance Plan (HAP), a $2.4B provider-sponsored health plan serving 430,000 members across Michigan. In his leadership, Genord drove sustained 4–4.5 Medicare Advantage Star ratings, led the CareSource joint venture that made 65% of Michigan Medicaid lives eligible for the combined plan, and built product partnerships with physician organizations and health systems across the state.

A board-certified physician who began his career in clinical practice, Genord combines clinical, operational, and financial insight to deliver value and optimize working relationships between hospitals, insurers, and physicians. Among his prominent leadership roles across the health plan industry, he has chaired the national boards of the Alliance of Community Health Plans and the Health Plan Alliance.
