- Community Health Needs Assessment
Nonprofit hospitals are required under IRS §501(r)(3) to complete a Community Health Needs Assessment every three years. A CHNA identifies and documents health needs and gaps in care within a defined service area, using demographic, socioeconomic, and health status data along with community input.
