The Rural Health Transformation Program (RHTP) is a $50B federal investment, directed by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services, to improve healthcare access, sustainability, and quality in rural areas of the U.S. From 2026 to 2030, it will fund state-level initiatives for care innovation, workforce development, and technology implementation.
States continue to release new funding opportunities through the RHTP as implementation moves forward nationwide. Recent announcements include several new Requests for Proposals supporting rural healthcare access, workforce development, and infrastructure.
