Aaron Murski, CVA

Managing Director

Aaron Murski serves as a Managing Director at VMG Health and is based in the Dallas office. He has developed expertise in providing valuation opinions, transaction consulting, and market research across many verticals within healthcare services. In addition to the extensive valuation experience in support of regulatory compliance, transaction planning, and financial reporting purposes, he has consulted on numerous development, feasibility, and recapitalization analyses for joint venture, restructuring, and denovo business development purposes. Clients include for-profit and not-for-profit health systems, providers, development companies, and their advisors across the United States.

Murski is also the lead research associate and collaborator in the development and publication of the Intellimarker™ Multi-Specialty ASC Benchmarking Study published annually by VMG Health. The Intellimarker™ presents hundreds of operating and financial benchmarking statistics using data from approximately 200 ambulatory surgery centers from around the country.

Murski received a Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance from the Mays Business School at Texas A&M University and a Master of Science in Jurisprudence, Health & Hospital Law Concentration, from Seton Hall University School of Law in Newark, NJ. He is designated as a Certified Valuation Analyst (CVA).

Ben Ulrich is a Managing Director in the Compensation Division at VMG Health and is based in the Dallas office. His focus is providing valuation and consulting services for contractual service arrangements within the healthcare services industry. He has particular expertise in valuations relating to provider employment, on-call coverage, physician administrative and executive services, telemedicine, hospital-based coverage, management / billing, and quality initiatives. Ulrich also developed and manages VMG Health’s FMV Tools service line providing expedited, cost-effective valuation solutions to clients nationwide.

Prior to joining the Compensation Division, Ulrich worked in VMG Health’s Business Valuation division where he provided valuation services related to hospitals, specialty/surgical hospitals, ambulatory surgical centers, diagnostic imaging centers, and single and multi-specialty physician practices.

Ulrich graduated summa cum laude and holds a Bachelor of Business Administration in Financial Consulting from the Edwin L. Cox School of Business at Southern Methodist University. He is currently designated as a Certified Valuation Analyst (CVA) and is a member of the National Association of Certified Valuation Analysts.

Cordell J. Mack is a Managing Director at VMG Health based in the Minneapolis office with over 19 years of experience in healthcare management and consulting. He specializes in helping provider clients with strategic and financial needs.

Mack has served a variety of clients across the country in various capacities related to health system positioning, capital/capacity availability, strategic planning, mergers and acquisitions, physician–health system partnerships, asset optimization, and performance improvement. He has served in a variety of leadership and administrative roles including owner/director of a sports medicine rehabilitation facility and administrator for a multispecialty clinic. Prior to joining VMG Health, Mack was a Partner at Health Care Futures.

A frequent author and speaker, Mack is a regular participant in regional and national HFMA and MGMA events on the topics of physician integration, service line joint ventures, and group performance.

Mack graduated with a bachelor’s and master’s degree in physical therapy from the University of North Dakota and a master’s degree in business from the University of Iowa.

Pam D’Apuzzo is a Managing Director at VMG Health leading the Coding, Compliance and Operational Excellence Management service line. She is a recognized leader and industry expert in the area of coding and compliance. Pam’s 30-plus years of healthcare consulting experience spans academic medical centers, community hospitals, faculty practice plans and large private practices.

A trusted adviser to New York’s leading healthcare institutions, she conducts educational and training seminars and provides comprehensive compliance programs. Pam also has a successful record of practice management services including operational and billing review, practice assessment, practice start-up assistance and EMR implementation.

Pam is a frequent speaker at conferences sponsored by the American Academy of Professional Coders (AAPC), Healthcare Financial Management Association (HFMA), New York State Society of Physician Assistants (NYSSPA), Suffolk County Medical Society (SCMS) and American Association of Gynecologic Laparoscopists (AAGL).

Clark Wilson is a Director at VMG Health and is based in the Dallas office. He specializes in providing valuation and transaction advisory services to businesses within the healthcare services industry. Wilson’s experience spans numerous healthcare subindustries. He has significant experience with ambulatory surgery centers, physician groups, diagnostic imaging centers, cancer centers, and urgent care centers. He also has experience with valuation issues related to branding arrangements, intellectual property, and software licensing.

Wilson holds a Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance from Texas A&M University. He is designated as a Certified Valuation Analyst (CVA) from the National Association of Certified Valuators and Analysts. He is currently pursuing the Chartered Financial Analyst designation from the CFA Institute (CFA).

Debra Rossi is a Director in the Coding, Compliance, and Operational Excellence division. She has over 30 years of healthcare revenue cycle and coding experience spanning academic medical centers, community hospitals, faculty practice plans, and large private practices. She has consulting experience in all areas of practice management and is a recognized industry expert in the area of coding, compliance, and revenue cycle.

Rossi conducts educational and training seminars and has overseen comprehensive coding and compliance programs at several of New York’s leading healthcare institutions. She also has a successful record with development and implementation of revenue integrity programs, denial management, and risk adjustment (HCC coding).

Rossi is the recipient of the 2016 Health Ethics Trust Best Practice Award. She is also a co-inventor of a patent pending, award winning coding tool focused on risk diagnosis coding identification and improvement.

Johnny Zizzi, based in Dallas, is a manager in the Buy/Sell Side Financial Due Diligence division of VMG Health, where he provides consulting and transaction advisory services to clients within the healthcare services industry.
Johnny graduated from Texas Christian University’s Neeley School of Business, where he earned both a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting and a Master of Accountancy.
Before joining VMG Health, he gained valuable experience at Deloitte’s Dallas office as a part of their audit and assurance team, where he specialized in the healthcare industry. Johnny is currently a licensed Certified Public Accountant (CPA) in the state of Texas.

Lukas Recio is a Director in the Buy/Sell Side Due Diligence and Business Valuation Divisions of VMG Health in the Dallas office. He provides consulting, transaction advisory, and business valuation services to clients within the healthcare services industry.

Recio graduated from Texas A&M University Mays Business School where he earned a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting and a Master of Science in Finance. Before joining VMG Health, he gained valuable experience at PwC’s Dallas office as a part of their Banking and Capital Markets assurance team. Recio is currently a licensed Certified Public Accountant (CPA) in Texas.

Jay Ostrom, based in Denver, is a Manager at VMG Health. He specializes in providing valuation and consulting services for a variety of contractual arrangements within the healthcare service industry, including provider employment, on-call coverage, subsidy coverage arrangements, physician administrative services, and practice management services.

Jay received a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from the University of Colorado. He is currently designated as a Certified Valuation Analyst (CVA) and is a member of the National Association of Certified Valuation Analysts.

Matt McKenzie is a Director in the Professional Service Agreements Division at VMG Health and is based in the Denver office. His focus is in providing valuation and consulting services for compensation arrangements within the healthcare services industry. He specializes in valuations related to clinical compensation models, on-call coverage, physician administrative and executive services, subsidy coverage, management services, and quality initiatives.

McKenzie serves as a contributor to VMG Health’s FMV Tools™ which allows users to quickly establish compensation levels for employed and independent contractor physicians in various roles based on systematic and unbiased guidelines.

McKenzie was a Distinguished Scholar at Southern Methodist University and graduated with a Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance with honors from the Edwin L. Cox School of Business. Additionally, he holds a Bachelor of Science in Economics with Financial Applications from the Dedman College of the Humanities and Sciences at SMU. McKenzie is currently designated as a Certified Valuation Analyst (CVA).
